Mindfulness with Mary

Welcome

You’re here.

That matters.

Mindfulness isn’t something you find.

It’s something you choose, again and again.

About Me

I’m Mary Canton, and mindfulness has been a part of my life longer than I realized. I first learned mindfulness as a child, using visualization and relaxation to manage chronic stomach pain.

Whether that pain came from early surgery, stress, or a sensitive nervous system, what stayed with me was this: the practice helped.

Now later in life, I’ve returned to that foundation with intention – learning, refining, and sharing mindfulness as a way to move through life with more ease and awareness.

If that resonates with you, I would be honored to guide you.

Frequently Asked Questions

I hate meditation. I can’t sit still or quiet my mind. What am I doing wrong?

Nothing! Noticing your restlessness is mindfulness. Our brains are wired to think, and our culture encourages constant hustle. Mindfulness gives you a choice: notice, accept, or shift your experience. Try walking meditation or eating meditation if sitting is unpleasant. Mantras and visualization meditation are helpful for a busy mind.

What are the benefits of mindfulness meditation?

Meditation helps you understand your patterns and responses. Sometimes meditation is amazing, sometimes it’s not, just like life.  With consistent practice you may gain more awareness, cultivate self-understanding and realign with more ease.

I’ve tried meditation before and it didn’t stick. Why continue?

Ask yourself why you started. Understanding your reason creates motivation. Like learning an instrument or a sport, meditation takes practice. Your “why” may evolve—stress relief, less rumination, reconnecting with your body—and your practice can adapt to your needs.

Why work with you?

There are lots of amazing teachers and tools out there—books, apps, podcasts, AI even. What I offer is to be a realistic, compassionate guide for your unique journey. If you want support exploring awareness and mindfulness in a way that fits your life, I’d be honored to work with you.

Are you really that mindful?

I have moments of mindfulness and moments of autopilot. I still misplace my phone, get flustered, and sometimes feel existential dread. Meditation helps me recognize my patterns and move through those moments with more grace and self-compassion.

Why don’t you list prices?

I want my work to be accessible and also make a living. Prices are flexible, and we can find what works for you.
